Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) is a precise technique for analyzing all types of batteries, semiconductors, corrosion processes, electroplating and a host of other electrical and chemical processes. This analytic capability has previously only been possible using expensive benchtop test equipment by scientists in a laboratory. Today, EIS has been developed into real-time test, measurement, diagnostic and quality control tools allowing for the rapid, multi-frequency scanning of batteries.

Linear Tech has developed a high throughput quality control system and the accompanying software for the rapid discovery and classification of defects in battery manufacturing. Linear Tech’s rapid battery test system has the capability of finding defective product in the lead acid battery manufacturing process.
